Wow! 100 years of Rotary in Greeley, Colorado! If you asked me just 2 months ago what Rotary is and where it came from, I’d have no clue.
Scroll thru your avg FB or twitter feed and what do you notice most? I notice a sea of videos and photos – the viral ones…the kind you seem to see EVERYBODY sharing or retweeting. They all have one thing in common – “shareability”.

One thing I’ve come to expect as a video production professional: this job takes you to some unusual places, doing unusual things and meeting unusual people…and animals.
The good people at Dairy Tech, a dairy business here in Colorado, have been coming up with new and fun ways to promote their beneficial calf products! The last video we did for them (see last week’s blog) was a jingle combined with a humorous dialogue. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun!
This shoot (see video above) also had it’s challenges, but they might not be the kind you’d expect.

…They both like to make mooooooovies!
Ok, that was lame, but give me a break...I’ve been working long and hard on this video!
It is true, however,
that every business, these days, needs video – even those in the business of raising cattle, as unlikely as that may seem! I will admit – I know very little about livestock. I raised sheep in my younger years, but once I moved from Sterling to Greeley 15 years ago, I became quite the city guy. However, working with these two has been a hoot! This shoot was filled with nonstop laughs and even chickens intently watching a man shake his “bag” outside! That’s another video for another time, though. Hahaha!

In my 17 years as a video production professional, I have heard almost every reason why a company doesn’t need video. Literally…I think I’ve heard them all. I’m not going to insult your intelligence by saying all those reasons are wrong. Some of these are legitimate reasons. But…I AM saying that almost all of these are rooted in misconceptions, and can be remedied with just a little bit of knowledge. So, if you’re willing, let’s jump in!
